Follow-up to my January 2021 testimonial

After carefully considering my room size of 12' x 13' x 8', I ultimately purchased a pair of CHARNEY Excalibur Companions equipped with the VOXATIV AC2.6 drivers. Even today, I remain thoroughly impressed by their performance across a wide variety of equipment combinations.

The Companions have paired beautifully with every amplifier I've used, including my 300b 8.5-watt monoblocks, 60-watt KT88 monoblocks, and my cherished Quicksilver Triode 6c33c 50-watt monoblocks. Unlike many loudspeakers that can be demanding or particular about system matching, the CHARNEY Companions consistently deliver outstanding results regardless of the electronics behind them.

What continues to impress me most is the coherence and musicality that come from the crossover-free design. There is something truly special about hearing music reproduced with such unity, natural flow, and emotional engagement.

The experience has been so satisfying that I've already started thinking about the future. When the time comes for a larger listening room, I won't spend countless hours auditioning other speakers. I'll simply pick up the phone and order a larger pair of CHARNEY loudspeakers, most likely the Concerto or Lumaca.

After living with the Companions, I know exactly what is possible, and I have complete confidence in Brian Charney's designs.
